OMG OMG OMG

OMG! The daughter of the vice of McCain is pregnant!!!! This is so fucking important for my country it makes first page.

WTF????? He is not even the president, so what is this shit important to the rest of the world? So yeah, the woman that proclaims youth should preserve themselves for marriage did the hancky panky when she was at least 16, got pregnant, and suddenly it's news for the rest of the world.

Also, hey, I do understand that Lousianna suffered enough witht the Catrina, but also the fact that the WHOLE news are about he fucking hurricane pisses me off a bit. There is 1 million of people without home in India because of REAL FLOODS, not threats of hurricanes. It's like America is a part of the Europe! Hey, by the emphasis on this shit, it's even probably a neighbour country! What about that????? I thought the only neighbour we had was Spain!!!!!

I HATE NEWS. I HATE NEWSPAPERS. BECAUSE THEY ARE FUCKING PAID BY THE STATE TO HIDE WHAT IS REALLY GOING ROTTEN INSIDE THE COUNTRY AND FOCUS ON THE FUCKING DAUGHTER OF A POSSIBLE NEW ASSHOLE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong. I was concerned about the Gustav. The problem is USA occupies the whole news, even though Europe is under serious threat of Depression, and the Government is annoyingly hidding the facts and economy problems, and basically focusing on commenting USA problems.  No other country exists in this world, apparently. All spotlights on America... It's like America is the next big Soapopera, and if you know Portugal, you know everyone is a big fan of Soapopera... As long as my people have bread and games, who cares about the slavery work of teatchers, deficient health system, the WHOLE in the State economy, the mistreating of nurses, the exploration of judges and lawyers... Hey, who cares... That is just half the population of the country. The rest is so brain dead already they even buy popcorns to watch the news...

EDIT: OMG... The pregnancy is also on the first page on the Spiegel. XD Apparently it is very important for Germans that the said daughter is pregnant. When I decide to get pregnant, like in 20 years, I want to have as much publibity and information about it.

Now here is why it is so "OMFGIMPORTANT!" The vice prez pick of Mccain is so far to the right on the conservative front that it is a smack in the face to what the ultra conservatives believe. They reckon it is like giving the die hard bible fucking nutjobs the middle finger...which I rather like, to be honest.

And yes...I unfortunately LIVE in this country and I'm sick of hearing about it.

I know it is important for Americans, my nuisance is that this is not important for MINE! And it's all over the news!

It's like the Gustav! I only got to hear ONE FRICKING time that it had killed 100 people in Jamaica! Everyone else failed to mention that the said hurricane had passed by other countries and made a mess... No, the only thing important is America!!!!

My mother is 55, has to work nowadays more hours per week than when she started working (and she started during the DICTATORSHIP), has to do extra hours, has to do the work of teacher, cleaner, psychologist and finance controller (everything in her school, by the way), has to endure fucking teenagers that deserve nothing but a slap in the face, has participated on the biggest strike and manifestation EVER in this country (and we got a lot in the end of the dictatorship), but the only comments the government does is about America and the Madeline McCann case... ARGH!!!!!!!

The p*ssy for the daughter of that woman is more important to portuguese people than the fact that they earn 500 euros per month, and they have to pay 600 in loans per month....

Sorry, I am pissed of and very disappointed about my own country.

It so isn't though. There is no finger. This might be the best thing to happen to McCain. They'll get to be all "See, we're compassionate! And WE'RE not sexist! Plus we're standing by this poor girl who wants to have her baby in spite of everything, and not abort like all those lazy selfish unsacrificing ethnic bitches do even though her parents are totally rich and her boyfriend is all-American cute linebacker guy whose also loaded so it's not like they're going to suffer hardship or even inconvenience for an instant of their lives or make any bloody sacrifices at all! See how we have pulled triumph from tragedy, not like that foul Edwards!!!"

Ahem. I seem to be slightly upset. ^____^

America's clout, though no longer well received, is still palpable and some of the world, like the US, is waiting for a change. And besides, the elections have always been a circus and as you said everyone loooves a show. We are a laughingstock, we provide entertainment. Papers will print what sells and major floods in India, domestic woes and educational crisis just aren't juicy. =P A right wing wedlock teenage pregnancy seems downright hilarious at this point. Should it make front page in Portugal and why should their media think so? That is the unsettling part for both nations.

It's a shoddy state of things right now, darling. Kudos to your mom for being what and who she is in an apparently thankless society.

Laughingstock not so much. Nobody laughs at the 300-ton elephant who is obviously psychotic and might run rampant at any time. *headdesk*

Nobody laughs in public anyway. It demands an eyeroll and yes, many heads meet desks.

I have always found that really disturbing. I remember being in NORTHERN SWEDEN and listening to an hour of news reports of someone's dog that had fallen in a well in Kentucky or somewhere.

I understand America has many problems with not being aware enough of the rest of the world, but damn if Europe at least couldn't stand to pay a little less attention to the U.S.? I've told people here how much our news gets covered abroad and some of them don't believe me!
